Oral Pathology in McComb, MS

Oral pathology is a specialized area of dentistry that focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions affecting the tissues of the mouth, including abnormalities, infections, and oral cancer. At Southwest Center for Oral Surgery, Dr. Eric Lewis uses advanced diagnostic techniques to identify signs of disease or unusual changes in the mouth. Whether it's identifying a lesion, abnormal growth, or detecting oral cancer at an early stage, oral pathology plays a crucial role in maintaining oral health and preventing serious conditions. If you notice any unusual symptoms in your mouth, it's important to contact our McComb, MS office for an accurate diagnosis and timely treatment.

During an oral pathology exam, Dr. Eric Lewis will carefully examine the tissues inside your mouth, including the gums, cheeks, tongue, and roof and floor. He may use specialized tools to better visualize and feel for any abnormalities, such as lumps, lesions, or unusual color changes. If something concerning is found, a biopsy may be performed to take a small sample of tissue for further testing in a lab. This exam helps ensure early detection of conditions like infections, precancerous lesions, or oral cancer, allowing for prompt treatment if necessary.

Oral pathology plays a vital role in maintaining oral health by ensuring precise diagnosis and effective treatment for various conditions. Some benefits include:

  • Catch oral diseases early
  • Get accurate answers
  • Personalized treatment plans
  • Prevent complications

I had an amazing experience. The office staff could give lessons on customer service. The entire office is spotless, and Courtney, the nurse in the back was phenomenal! 1st IV I’ve EVER had that didn’t hurt! Actually 1st one that I didn’t have to get poked multiple times!! 5stars and 2👍👍 from us! Woke up the next morning with minimal pain, feeling so much better. Dr Lewis has been a blessing for us

Dr Lewis did a wonderful job. Diagnosed and surgically removed with no side effects. I am elderly and as uncertain how well I would do. I could not be more pleased

Getting your teeth worked on is never cheap, so chose one the best Dr Lewis. I pulled 29 teeth at one time, then scraped bone around gums so my new teeth will fit well. Never had any pain thru out whole process . Proper healing between steps , it took 10 weeks oh almost forgot I got a 500.00 discount on scrapping bone , which I had a lot of . If you want a good job done the first time I highly recommend Dr Lewis in mcomb ms .
